Lesia Cartelli
President
Cartelli began her career in 1991, as Director of Support with the Burn Institute where she launched and directed the first camp for burn-injured children in southern California. Cartelli moved onto become the Community Relations Representative with University of California San Diego, Regional Burn Center and then was named Executive Director of the Orange County Burn Association. During this 17 year span she developed and directed after-care programs for burn-injured children and adults who have endured serious burn injuries. Cartelli founded the first national retreat for adult who suffered from severe burn injuries.
Cartelli was on the founding task force implementing Critical Incident Stress Management for the San Diego Fire and Rescue Department, serving for the Urban Search and Rescue, TF -8. Cartelli became Family Support Coordinator Critical Incident Stress Management Task Force after the 911 attacks.
Cartelli also spent two years as a volunteer for the Trauma Intervention Program in North San Diego County.
Jane Marshall Carroll
Secretary
Jane Marshall Carroll, MA retired in 1995 after twenty five years in the field of teaching. Jane was head of the foreign language program at San Clemente High School and lead the accreditation program for Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Jane has a degree in Masters of Business Administration and two Bachelor of Arts degrees (English/French and French/Spanish) from University of San Diego.
Jane has served as a dedicated volunteer for many years throughout San Diego including Hospice and Ecke YMCA. In 1998, Jane joined the committee for “Spinoff”, an event which raises funds for cancer prevention and early detection for the five Scripps Hospitals in San Diego. Jane earned the Lifetime Achievement Award from Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla in January 2007. Jane also worked as the Chair of the Stevens Cancer Center’s Advisory Board at Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla from 2003-2007. She continues to be on the Board of Directors. Jane has been on the Board of Directors with Angel Faces since 2006.
Paul Chasan, M.D.
Dr. Chasan is on staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla and is an Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Surgery at UCSD. Dr. Chasan is a board-certified member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. He is a diplomate of the American College of Surgeons and serves on the credential committee at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla.
Dr. Chasan graduated Alpha Omega Alpha and Magna Cum Laude from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha , Nebraska . He completed his general surgical residency at the University of California , San Diego Medical Center and his plastic surgery residency at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City. Dr. Chasan is known nationally for his work on breast surgery and facial rejuvenation, including breast augmentation and rhinoplasty.
Susan Fowler
Susan Fowler is a Senior Consulting Partner with The Ken Blanchard Companies and a Founding Partner of Leadership Legacies, LLC. She is the co-author with Ken Blanchard of Self Leadership and the One Minute Manager, published in 2005.
Susan has established a solid and respected track record as a management consultant, keynote speaker, and innovative product designer and developer in the field of leadership training.
Susan's goal is to be a catalyst for personal change and the teacher of the skills necessary to sustain self-motivation. As one of the world's foremost experts on personal empowerment, she has delivered training seminars, workshops, and keynote speeches to more than 50,000 people, in over 30 countries and in all 50 of the United States.
With Ken Blanchard and Laurence Hawkins, she created—and is the lead developer of—Situational Self Leadership®, a best-of-class self-leadership and personal empowerment program. Her books and tapes include Achieve Leadership Genius (co-authored with Drea Zigarmi and Dick Lyles), Leading at a Higher Level (with Ken Blanchard and Associates), Good Leaders, Good Shepherds (also with Zigarmi and Lyles) Overcoming Procrastination, Mentoring, The Team Leader's Idea-A-Day Guide (co-authored with Drea Zigarmi), and Empowerment (co-authored with Ken Blanchard). Susan is an adjunct professor for the University of San Diego's Master of Science in Executive Leadership program. She currently resides in San Diego, California.
Mary Murray
Mary Murray is currently the Vice President of Wealth Management with The Private Bank, Wells Fargo. She has been a dedicated volunteer and board member of Angel Faces for four years, and was recognized by the North County Philanthropy Council as a “Volunteer of the Year” in 2009. Mary is also a member of the Rancho Santa Fe Rotary Club in San Diego County.
Robert A. Waller, Jr., Attorney
Robert was sworn into the California Bar Association in December 1993, and opened his own law office in downtown San Diego. Robert graduated from San Diego State University in 1989 with a bachelors of science degree in Criminal Justice Administration. Robert attended law school at the San Diego campus of Western State University (now Thomas Jefferson School of Law) graduating in 1993.
Robert is licensed to practice before all courts in the State of California, and admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Central and Southern District Courts of California.
In addition to serving on the Board for Angel Faces, Robert is also a volunteer with the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors, Inc., and a former member of the Board of Director of Consumer Attorneys of San Diego. In addition to his civic activities, Robert is an adjunct professor teaching Negotiation at California Western School of Law.
